What’s happening?
The Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce has secured the Queensland Government contract to lead the Regional Jobs Committee program in the Redlands from 2025 to October 2027. The appointment places the region among only 12 locations across Queensland chosen to deliver the renewed program.
The Chamber will continue the work it has built over the past five years, supporting local workforce development and skills outcomes. The leadership team remains unchanged, with Des Kerr staying on as Chairperson and Kate Adams continuing as Project Manager.
“We are proud to continue this important work for our region and build on what has already been achieved,” the Chamber said. “This next phase will help drive real jobs and real outcomes for the Redlands.”
Why it matters
The new two-year term gives the Chamber certainty to plan and deliver long-term workforce solutions. The work aims to support job growth, tackle skills shortages and create strong pathways into employment.
The Chamber said the renewed contract strengthens its commitment to the community. “We’re excited to keep working with our partners and local industries to support the skills and jobs the Redlands needs,” the team noted.
Local Impact
The Chamber said the renewed contract will help the Redlands plan ahead with more confidence. “This term gives us the certainty we need to deliver long-term solutions that match the needs of our region,” they said. The work will support employers, job seekers and young people exploring local training pathways.
