Redland City Council has recently announced its call for expressions of interest from not-for-profit and community groups interested in managing three currently unoccupied facilities across the Redlands Coast.
Among the vacant spaces are two community halls – Cascades Hall, located at 314 Colburn Avenue, Victoria Point, and the Winter Memorial Park building, situated at 53 Mount Cotton Road, Capalaba.
The third facility in consideration is a disused restroom block on Waterside Drive, Macleay Island, which holds the potential for repurposing into a storage facility.
Mayor Karen Williams highlighted the versatility of the halls, presenting an array of possibilities for utilisation by community groups.
“We’re eager to receive proposals from community organisations eager to outline their ideas and business plans for the future use and management of these facilities. Our goal is to maximise community benefit through optimal utilisation,” Mayor Williams remarked.
The Expression of Interest process enables community groups to submit their concepts and plans to the Council for evaluation and consideration.
Submissions for these community facility opportunities are now open, it commenced last Thursday, August 31, and will be concluded on September 22, 2023.
