Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is set to illuminate the hearts of Metro South Health staff as they prepare to mark this joyous occasion on Sunday, 12 November.

Anjali Khanna and Marisha Chandra from Bayside Health Service eagerly anticipate sharing the warmth and positivity of Diwali with colleagues. Anjali describes her family’s tradition of visiting the Hindu temple, lighting diya (traditional clay lamps), and creating intricate Rangoli patterns at home.

Maulik Patel, equally excited for the upcoming New Year celebrations, emphasises the significance of togetherness, laughter, and creating cherished memories with loved ones.

He eagerly anticipates the sparklers and mouth-watering food that accompany the festivities.

Symbolising triumph over darkness

Diwali, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness, promises to immerse Redland City in vibrant colours and mesmerising lights.

As the festival approaches, families will come together, houses will be adorned with decorations, and traditional Indian cuisine will fill the air.
