What’s happening?
The ACCESSible Business Awards are seeking nominations to recognise businesses across Australia that go above and beyond to welcome people with guide, hearing, or assistance dogs.
These awards celebrate businesses that create inclusive and accessible environments for everyone.
Nominations are open until Monday, 17th March 2025, at 11:59pm, with winners announced on Monday, 24th March 2025, at 10am AEST.
Why it matters?
These awards aim to foster a culture of inclusivity, inspire other businesses to create accessible spaces, and celebrate those who accommodate assistance dog teams.
Recognising these efforts not only empowers individuals relying on assistance dogs but also raises awareness about the importance of accessibility in all areas of life.
Local Impact
By showcasing inclusive businesses, the awards encourage a stronger sense of community and support for individuals relying on guide, hearing, or assistance dogs.
They also highlight practical examples of how businesses can make meaningful changes to better serve customers with disabilities.
By the Numbers
- Over 30,000 Australians benefit from guide, hearing, or assistance dogs, with numbers increasing annually.
- Businesses adopting inclusive practices report a 20% rise in customer satisfaction from diverse groups.
- At least eight standout businesses—one from each state or territory—will be honoured.
