Draft Young People’s Action Plan 2024-2027 outlines a bold future for Redland City’s youth

In a world of evolving challenges, Redland City stands poised to support its 24,500 young residents aged 12 to 24.

The draft Young People’s Action Plan 2024-2027, unveiled by the Council, envisions a community that nurtures the growth of its youth, providing ample social infrastructure, diverse housing options, and a myriad of opportunities spanning education, culture, recreation, and employment.

The Vision for Empowered Youth

The plan acknowledges the complexities faced by today’s youth, balancing digital connectivity with the necessity for strong interpersonal relationships.

With approximately 15.5% of Redland City’s population being young people, the plan aims to bolster existing support structures while addressing the vulnerabilities of some individuals in domains such as health, housing, and safety.

Outlining the Path to Success

Central to this initiative is the Council’s commitment to celebrating and supporting the achievements of its young population, aiming to transcend stereotypical portrayals and foster an environment where every young person feels valued and empowered.

The plan is not merely an abstract proposal; it’s a tangible roadmap aimed at creating safer, more inclusive communities while acknowledging and amplifying the positive contributions made by Redland City’s youth.

Building a Stronger Tomorrow

Why a Young People’s Action Plan, you might ask? In a rapidly changing world, preparedness is key.

By outlining clear goals and strategies, this plan not only reduces uncertainty but also creates a definitive direction for the council, ensuring they can gauge their success and adapt to the evolving needs of their youth.
