A Path to Heroism for Young Minds
Are you a young and adventurous soul aged between 15 and 21, looking for an opportunity that will set your heart ablaze with excitement?
Look no further! The City of Redlands Fire Department Explorer Post is here to ignite your passion for firefighting and community service. Established in 2000, this program offers the perfect avenue for enthusiastic youths to learn about the fire service.
Unlocking the Firefighter Within
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., these Fire Explorers gather to stoke their flames of ambition. Through group physical fitness, hands-on training, and community involvement, they acquire invaluable firefighting skills, from hose laying to wildland firefighting and beyond.
They learn basic first aid and patient care, vehicle extrication, and the use of firefighting tools and equipment, making them well-rounded fire service enthusiasts.
Real-Life Experience
But the real excitement begins when Fire Explorer participants have the chance to “Ride Along“ with professional firefighters. They respond to actual emergency calls, participate in training, and engage in community projects, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the safety of the community they cherish.
