If you thought “Carrie the Crane” was a delightful idea, hold onto your hard hats because Bayside’s little geniuses are once again encouraged to unleash their imagination!
Redland Hospital’s newest 30-metre crane needs a catchy moniker, and it could be yours.
Building Dreams and Bed Spaces
As part of the impressive $77.9 million Redland Hospital Expansion Project, this towering crane plays a vital role in creating a healthcare facility that’s second to none.
The expansion includes a brand-new two-story building, a whopping 37 extra beds, and an intensive care unit. With such a massive upgrade, it’s only fitting that the crane gets a name that reflects the monumental changes taking place.
Name the Crane and Make History
Calling all primary school-aged youngsters in Bayside! Here’s your chance to be part of Redland City’s healthcare history.
Greg Nolan, the Bayside Health Service Executive Director, has set the stage for a naming competition like no other. If you’re bubbling with creativity, seize this opportunity to put your mark on the region’s skyline.
Prizes and Bragging Rights
The stakes are high in this thrilling competition. The lucky winners will see their chosen name proudly displayed on the crane for the entire project duration.
Plus, there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, courtesy of ADCO, the project’s managing contractor. It’s not every day that you get to name a crane and receive cool prizes for it!
Previous Success Inspires More
Bridie Owen, a fifth-grade student from Dunwich State School, set the bar high by naming the crane that built Redland Hospital’s multi-level car park.
Thanks to her ingenuity, the car park now offers more than 1,000 additional spaces for patients, visitors, and dedicated hospital staff.
