What’s happening?
A Russell Island man has won more than $100,000 after adding the number “57” to his regular Keno ticket before Tuesday night’s draw.
The Redland local scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in draw on May 19, 2026.
The winning ticket was purchased at The Russell Island Bowls Club on Jackson Road.
The dad said he usually plays numbers connected to family birthdays but decided to make a last minute change before the draw.
“I’m feeling very happy this morning!” he said.
“I always play my favourite set of numbers, including my wife and children’s birthdays.
“I don’t know why, but something told me they needed a small tweak yesterday.
“For some reason, I thought I’d throw in the number ‘57’, which I’d never normally play.”
The winner said he plans to share the prize with family.
“I’d like to surprise my wife and grandkids with some of it. It’ll certainly help us out,” he said.
