Federal Member for Bowman Henry Pike said he was proud to have helped secure funding for the project.
Funding came through the previous Coalition Government’s SEQ City Deal and SEQ Liveability Fund. The project also received support from all three levels of government.
“This is a fantastic outcome for the Redlands Tigers and for cricket in our community,” Mr Pike said. “These new lights mean more cricket, better training opportunities and greater participation for juniors and women, while allowing one of Queensland’s best suburban cricket grounds to host night cricket.”
Mr Pike said playing under the lights was a fitting way for the Tigers to begin their title defence.
“Last year’s championship was a brilliant title win, and I’m looking forward to watching the Tigers in action again this season.”
