Nominations are open for the 2027 Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards, giving the community an opportunity to recognise people and organisations making outstanding local contributions.
Nominations close at 11.59pm on Sunday, 1 November 2026, with recipients to be announced at a special ceremony in January 2027.
Why It Matters
Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the annual awards recognise individuals and groups who strengthen community connections and contribute to Redlands Coast.
“Across our community there are countless people quietly making a positive difference every day,” Cr Talty said.
She said nominees could demonstrate leadership, innovation or act as positive role models. They could also contribute through community initiatives or make an impact on the city’s cultural, environmental or economic life.
“The Redlands Coast Australia Day Awards are an opportunity to shine a light on these local achievers and the impact they make in the community.”
Local Impact
The awards provide Redlands Coast residents with a way to recognise people and organisations for their work within the community.
“Every nomination tells a story of generosity, commitment and community pride,” Cr Talty said.
“Taking a few minutes to nominate someone is a meaningful way to thank them for everything they do.”
By The Numbers
- Five award categories are available for individuals and organisations in the 2027 awards.
- 65 years and over is the age requirement for the Senior Citizen of the Year category.
- 26 years and under is the age requirement for the Young Citizen of the Year category.

The five categories are Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Organisation of the Year and Community Spirit Award.
The Community Spirit Award can recognise either an individual or an organisation. Eligibility criteria and nomination details are available through Redland City Council.

The annual awards recognise different forms of community contribution, from individual achievement and leadership to the work of local organisations.
They also recognise contributions across community initiatives and the cultural, environmental and economic life of Redlands Coast.
