Redland City Council has adopted a budget for 2023/24 that includes an approximate 6% rise in council-controlled rates and charges for homeowners. This increase will impact residents in Redlands, who already bear the highest rates, charges, and water costs in the southeast region of Queensland, as indicated in the accompanying chart.

The disparity between Redlands, the most expensive place to live, and Moreton, the least expensive, exceeds $600 annually. Despite ongoing efforts, the cost burden for Redland City homeowners remains significantly higher compared to neighbouring areas in the region.
