An Iconic Event for a Worthy Cause

Australian sporting icon Raelene Boyle will be at Robina Town Centre this Thursday to support the inaugural Ride for Hayley event. This fundraiser, led by Bakers Delight Queensland, aims to raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) in memory of Hayley Fyfield, a beloved franchisee who passed away from breast cancer in March 2024.

Join the Ride and Make a Difference

Boyle, a survivor of breast and ovarian cancer, emphasizes the importance of participation: “I’d encourage my fellow Queenslanders to do their 10kms, donate $10, then challenge 10 friends to do the same.” With the final day of the fundraiser this Sunday, locals are urged to join in either at Robina Town Centre or virtually from anywhere in the country.

A Community Effort

Notable sports figures like Tom Berry from the Gold Coast Suns have also shown their support. Berry, an ambassador for BCNA who lost his mother to breast cancer, highlights the community’s commitment to this cause. Ride for Hayley mirrors AFL superstar Shane Crawford’s previous fundraising ride, aiming for a collective virtual ride of 3426kms from Queensland to Victoria and back.

Supporting BCNA through Pink Bun

The event coincides with Bakers Delight’s annual Pink Bun campaign, running from 9-29 May. During this period, 100% of sales from Fun Buns and Fun Bun 6-Packs are donated to BCNA. This initiative ensures that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the best information, treatment, and support.

An Invitation to All

“Ride for Hayley is a demonstration of two networks coming together and proving that distance doesn’t override the strength and compassion within our communities,” says Elise Gillespie, Bakers Delight Joint CEO. Participate in this heartwarming event and honour Hayley Fyfield’s legacy while contributing to a crucial cause.
