The much-anticipated Paradise Garden Shopping Village in Thornlands opened its doors last Friday, 3rd May, marking the start of a new community hub designed to cater to the retail, dining, and entertainment needs of the Redland City area.

Situated on the corner of Boundary Road and Panorama Drive, the $70 million shopping precinct is poised to bring a fresh wave of local offerings.

A Blend of the Old and New

The village has been developed as a collaboration between the local Wong family, who have owned the 6.25-hectare site for over 50 years, property development specialists, Development Directive, and award-winning architects, Cottee Parker.

The design of Paradise Garden Shopping Village thoughtfully incorporates the site’s history, paying homage to the Quandamooka People and its roots as a strawberry farm and local convenience store known as the ‘Round Shop’.

A Community-Focused Opening

Opening day was a celebration of community spirit, featuring the unveiling of a full-line Coles Supermarket and Liquorland, with additional speciality stores like Hive Salons, Ha’ne Sushi, TSG, KFC, and a BP Fuel station set to open soon.

Visitors were welcomed by the Rotary Club of Cleveland’s community BBQ, with proceeds supporting the club’s community work.

A Local Job Boom

Paradise Garden Shopping Village is expected to create over 240 new jobs and provide residents with access to vital services and retail amenities close to home.

Geoff Rolandsen from Development Directive expressed his excitement at the impact the centre will have, saying it aims to be more than just a shopping centre but a destination for families and friends to connect.

As the community embraces this new shopping experience, Paradise Garden Shopping Village is set to become a cornerstone of Redland City’s vibrant local economy, blending tradition with modern convenience.
