The proposed 4-level apartment building with 53 units at 200-206 Thorneside Road is being assessed under the Medium Density Residential (MDR) Zone Code and is categorised as ‘Code Assessable’.
BUILDING REGULATIONS
Cr. Paul Bishop recently met with council officers to discuss various aspects of the development, including waste management, parking ratios, service provision, network capacity, assessment level, and building height.
BISHOP’S OBSERVATION
While waiting for a written response and more detailed information from the council officers, Cr. Bishop can only provide general observations. For example, the property is classified as medium-density residential and has a maximum building height of 13 metres, according to the city plan. If any development exceeds this height, an impact-assessable application would be necessary.
The Queensland planning system evaluates development applications based on performance and code requirements. If the development exceeds 13 metres, public notification would be necessary.
According to Councilor Bishop, he will wait for more information and updates from the council officers to better understand the development proposal as the assessment process progresses.
