The gardens may benefit from the recent wet weather, but the tracks and trails within Redlands Coast conservation reserves are currently saturated due to the abundant rainfall. Consequently, the Redland City Council is strongly advising individuals to refrain from utilizing these trails to prevent substantial harm.
Such usage could not only disrupt the experience of other trail users but also impose additional expenses on the Council for repairs and maintenance.
To determine whether the trails are suitable for use, a helpful guideline is to assess if your footsteps or bike tracks are leaving visible imprints. If such marks are evident, it indicates that the trails are too wet and should be avoided to prevent further damage and inconvenience to others.
Council will continue to monitor and assess the condition of tracks, including water across tracks, damage and erosion.
Try sticking to the wider gravelled access tracks if you’re keen to get out, and don’t forget to report fallen or damaged trees on or near trails to Council on 07 3829 8999.
