In a bid to bolster the vibrancy of Redland City’s cultural fabric, the Redland City Council has allocated over $108,500 in sponsorship for diverse community events.

These investments aim to invigorate both established and nascent initiatives, nurturing a rich tapestry of activities that benefit the local populace.

Empowering Community Initiatives

Mayor Karen Williams underscored the pivotal role of such sponsorships in fortifying the community, stating, Council sponsorship helps organisations and community groups make a difference on the Redlands Coast through a diverse range of events, projects, and initiatives that benefit our community.”

One notable boost comes to Queensland Touch Football, heralding the arrival of the Junior State Cup in July 2024.

This landmark event is anticipated to draw over 3500 junior touch football players and their families, amplifying the city’s allure for three spirited days of competition.

Fusion of Sport and Community

Beyond sports events like the 2024 Straddie Salute Triathlon and the Queensland Under 14 Boys and Girls Softball Championship, the sponsorship embraces community celebrations such as the YMCA Food Fiesta and the STAR Community Services annual event.

These gatherings not only enrich local life but also serve as economic magnets, beckoning visitors from far and wide to behold the natural wonders of the Redlands Coast.

Cultural Enrichment and Inclusion

Moreover, a heartening emphasis has been placed on fostering Quandamooka cultural awareness and inclusion activities.

Three recipients from the first round secured additional funding for these noble endeavours, further accentuating the commitment to embracing and celebrating indigenous heritage.
