
Veteran MP Mark Robinson to Retire, Won’t Seek Re-Election
Veteran MP Mark Robinson has made the decision not to run for re-election in the upcoming 2024 state election. After serving five consecutive terms in office, Robinson cited his desire to prioritise spending more time with his family as the reason behind his retirement. During his budget reply speech last Friday, the long-serving MP took the opportunity to announce his plans, stating that he wanted to pursue interests outside of politics that had been on hold and close to his heart. Throughout his tenure as the Cleveland (Oodgeroo) MP, Robinson held various positions within the LNP shadow cabinet and served as deputy speaker during the Campbell Newman era from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, he is a pastor at Favor Church
