During his budget reply speech last Friday, the long-serving MP took the opportunity to announce his plans, stating that he wanted to pursue interests outside of politics that had been on hold and close to his heart. The Parks and Conservation Crew of Redland City Council are scheduled to perform a hazard reduction burn in a specific bushland area located at the Redlands Indigiscapes Centre on 17 Runnymede Road in Capalaba. The burn will occur between Tuesday, June 13th, and Friday, June 16th, 2023, subject to favourable weather conditions. Preparations for the burn will occur in the days leading up to the scheduled dates, which involve clearing vegetation around significant logs and habitat trees. Additionally, some controlled test burning may be conducted during this preparation period.
