In a heartwarming move, the Redland City Council has opened its Civic Support Fund, aiming to provide a lifeline to vulnerable residents on the Redlands Coast.

This program offers grants to community organisations with the noble objective of alleviating the financial burden on residents and addressing various risk factors caused by the soaring cost of living.

A Helping Hand in Difficult Times

This initiative primarily supports community organisations that offer crucial human and social assistance to those adversely affected by the ever-increasing cost of living.

The individuals in focus include those facing challenges related to Child Safety, Domestic and Family Violence, Homelessness, Mental Health, and those dealing with Frailty, Aging, and Disability.

Grant Categories for Varied Needs

Eligible not-for-profit community organisations can apply for funding under three distinct categories tailored to address the diverse needs of the community.

Quick Response Grants: These grants offer up to $5,000 in support to organisations to provide immediate assistance to residents facing heightened risk factors due to financial pressures. These projects are designed to run for 1 to 3 months, offering swift, direct help to those in need.

Minor Grants: For community organisations needing more extensive resources, Minor Grants provide up to $20,000 to address emerging community priorities stemming from cost of living pressures. These projects span 3 to 12 months and aim to enhance residents’ well-being, connection, security, and knowledge.

Major Grants: The largest funding category, Major Grants, offers up to $50,000 for community organisations undertaking large-scale, long-term initiatives that address the cost of living needs of Redlands residents. These projects span up to 12 months and focus on building resilience within the community through the enhancement of well-being, connection, security, and knowledge.
