Exciting news! Redland City Council is on the lookout for enthusiastic not-for-profit and community groups to take charge of two incredible city assets: Redland Bay and Wellington Point. These facilities are now available for community use, and the possibilities are endless!

A REVITALISED HUB FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

First up, we have the Point Talburpin Park Hall in Redland Bay. This former church building has undergone a complete refurbishment, boasting a fresh new look. With a floor area of approximately 106 sqm, it’s ready to be transformed into a vibrant hub for community activities.

But wait, there’s more! The Wellington Point facility is a true gem. It consists of two buildings, sheds, and off-street parking, offering a total floor area of around 350sqm. The larger building is equipped with a fantastic common area, complete with a kitchen, offices, and even an accessible toilet and shower. The smaller building, though slightly smaller at 100, still packs a punch with similar facilities and convenient ramp access.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF LOCAL FACILITIES

Mayor Karen Williams is thrilled about the potential uses for these facilities. They have been utilised by various organisations in the past, but now it’s time for fresh ideas and innovative approaches. The council wants to hear from you, passionate community organisations, about how you envision utilising these spaces in the future. This is your chance to make a difference and create a lasting impact on the community!

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity. The submission period is open from October 12 to November 5, 2023. Head over to the Council’s Your Say Redlands Coast website to get all the information you need to submit your proposal. Let’s make these facilities the vibrant heart of our community!
