As the bushfire and storm season approaches, residents of Redlands Coast are being urged to take proactive measures to ensure their safety and protect their properties.

DRY SEASON
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts reduced rainfall through February due to El Niño, increasing bushfire risk. Preparing now will better handle the upcoming season’s challenges.
PREPAREDNESS FOR ANY EMERGENCY
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams announced Get Ready Queensland Week from October 9 to 15, with the goal of being proactive in late spring and summer.
CITY INITIATIVE
Redland City Council has implemented fire mitigation measures, including 25 planned burns, 170km of fire access tracks, and vegetation management. They maintain a Disaster Management website and Redlands Coast Alerts, encourage spring cleaning, block gutters, and provide a carport shelter for local SES (State Emergency Service) volunteers.
