The team, consisting of Jessica Fox, Noemie Fox, and Kate Eckhardt, clinched the gold medal in an impressive 108.62 seconds, beating Spain by 0.29 seconds for silver and Great Britain by 0.40 seconds for third place.
Australia kicked off the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships strongly by winning gold in the Women’s Kayak Team event at London’s Lee Valley Whitewater Centre.
Noemie credited their historic Kayak Team gold medal win to their strong team bond, stating, “We won the kayak event, becoming the first Australian team to do so, four years after our C1 victory in 2019. It’s incredibly special. We collaborate, challenge, learn from, and motivate each other. Achieving this together is truly exceptional, and the opportunity to compete against and surpass major nations is what makes this event beloved.”
