A fungal skin disease outbreak is currently affecting reptiles on Redlands Coast. This disease, which is typically fatal, primarily targets water and bearded dragons.
Keep a keen eye out for signs such as yellow skin discolouration, flakiness, or scale loss. Do not touch any reptile displaying these symptoms as the fungus is highly contagious. Instead, promptly contact the Redlands Wildlife Rescue Service at (07) 3833 4031 for assistance.
Suspected cases of this affliction should also be reported to Biosecurity Queensland via email at bslwildlife@daf.qld.gov.au or by calling 07 3708 8762.
