What’s happening?

Redland City Council has supported a wide range of community projects, services and events across Redlands Coast since January 2026.

Six rolling grant programs were offered during the past six months, helping local groups deliver activities that strengthen community life. The funded projects covered community facilities, support programs, celebrations and events across the region.

Council has published details of successful applications on its website, while information about eligibility and future rounds is available through its grants and sponsorship page.

Why it matters?

Council grants can help community organisations move projects forward when their own resources are limited.

Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the program was designed to support events that add life to the region while also helping residents of different ages and abilities.

“Council’s grants program aims to help the community deliver events that enhance the vibrancy of our region and provide services to support the well-being of people of all ages and abilities,” Cr Talty said.

She said the funding also reflected the Council’s broader aim of building stronger and more connected communities.

“It also aligns with Council’s strategic direction outlined in the Corporate Plan and its focus on building strong communities, in this case through the delivery of initiatives and events that generate a sense of community connection, pride and inclusion.”

Local Impact

The grants provide direct support for groups delivering practical services, local celebrations, facility improvements and public events across Redlands Coast.

These projects can improve the range and quality of activities available to residents while helping community organisations respond to local needs.

Cr Talty said every funded project added value to the region’s facilities, services and community life.

“All projects and events that have received funding help to enhance both the diversity and quality of community facilities, services, programs and community-based events across Redlands Coast,” she said.

The range of grant programs also gives local organisations more choice, depending on the size, timing and purpose of their project.

By the Numbers

  • More than $481,000 was allocated to community projects and events across Redlands Coast during the past six months.
  • A total of 42 projects and events received support through Redland City Council’s grants program.
  • Funding ranges from $500 for urgent community needs to $60,000 for large-scale, multi-year signature events.

The grants program covers both immediate needs and larger community projects.

Rapid Response Grants start from $500 and are intended to help organisations deal with urgent community needs. At the other end of the program, the Signature Events Attraction and Retention Fund offers up to $60,000 for major events delivered across several years.

Cr Talty said the funding range allowed Council to support projects of different sizes and purposes.

“Available funding across the various grants ranged from $500 for rapid response grants to help with an urgent community need and up to $60,000 for large scale, multi-year signature events,” she said.

Zoom Out

Redland City Council’s grants program is spread across several funding streams rather than one general application round.

This structure allows groups to apply for support that better matches their needs, whether they are responding to an urgent issue, planning a local celebration, improving a facility or organising a major event.

The staggered schedule also gives community organisations several opportunities to prepare and submit applications throughout the financial year.

What To Look For Next?

The Community Celebration Grant will be the first new round to open, with applications accepted from 13 July 2026.

Community Support, Build and Thrive, and Events Grant rounds will follow over the coming months. The Signature Events and Rapid Response programs will remain open until 30 April 2027, unless their available funding is exhausted earlier.
