What’s happening?

Assets from Brisbane’s former Victoria Park precinct are being released to the market as the site moves into its next phase.

Lloyds Auctions will conduct a major three-part online auction series after the precinct’s official closure on 31 May 2026. Notice to vacate was issued to allow the construction of the new Brisbane 2032 Olympic Stadium.

The sale includes operational contents from across the former venue, including its hospitality, events, leisure, golf and site management areas. Items range from commercial hospitality equipment and events infrastructure to vehicles, furniture, fit out, golf equipment and groundskeeping stock.

Victoria Park operated for 27 years and became one of Brisbane’s most recognised inner-city destinations. Over that time, it hosted weddings, corporate functions, public gatherings and golf-related activity across the precinct.

Why it matters?

The auction marks a major turning point for a well-known Brisbane venue, while also opening a practical buying opportunity for businesses and the wider public.

Hospitality operators, event hire businesses, golf-related buyers, landscapers, facilities managers and small businesses are expected to show interest. Many will be looking for equipment, stock or infrastructure from a large-scale venue that was in regular public use.

Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer at Lloyds Auctions, said the sale reflects the size of the former precinct.

“This is a substantial commercial asset liquidation with thousands of items being offered across three separate auctions in one day,” Mr Hames said.

“With all assets starting from $1, the sale presents an opportunity for businesses and buyers to secure practical equipment and operational stock across a number of categories,” he said.

Local Impact

For Brisbane businesses, the auction could provide access to commercial equipment at a lower entry point than buying new.

The sale also gives buyers across Queensland and Australia a chance to secure items from one of the city’s best-known former sport, leisure and hospitality sites.

At the same time, it signals the end of Victoria Park’s former operating life. The precinct is now being cleared as Brisbane prepares the site for its Olympic future.

By the Numbers

  • Victoria Park operated for 27 years, giving the site a long place in Brisbane’s sport, leisure and hospitality scene.
  • Every lot will start at $1, making the auction accessible to buyers with different budgets and needs.
  • The auction series will run across 29 and 30 June 2026, with three online sessions closing over the two days.

Zoom In

The online auction will be split into three sessions across front-of-house, maintenance and back-of-house assets.

The Front of House auction will close on 29 June at 10 am. Buildings, Buggies and Maintenance will close on 30 June from 10 am. Back of House will close on 30 June from 2 pm.

Buyers nationwide will be able to take part online, with catalogue and inspection details available through Lloyds Auctions.

“The range of assets reflects the scale of the former Victoria Park operations, from hospitality and events equipment through to golf, grounds and broader site infrastructure,” Mr Hames said.

Zoom Out

The auction sits within a wider period of change for Victoria Park as Brisbane prepares for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

For years, the precinct served as a public-facing venue for sport, dining, functions and major gatherings. Its closure now clears the way for the site’s next use, while the auction gives its former contents a second life with businesses, operators and private buyers.

Lloyds Auctions has operated for more than 20 years and runs auctions across vehicles, machinery, fine art, jewellery, antiques, hospitality, events and operational assets.

What To Look For Next?

Bidding will take place online, with the first session closing from 10 am on 29 June 2026. The final session will close at 2 pm on 30 June 2026.
