What’s happening?

Aggreko is backing the Gympie Music Muster in more ways than one. The company is not only supplying the power generators that will keep the event running from 28 to 31 August 2025 at Amamoor Creek State Forest, but also sending in staff to help get the site ready.

As part of its Day of Difference initiative, around 20 team members from departments including HR, asset management, sales and technicians worked onsite across two days. They built fences, prepared the grounds and brought tools and teamwork to the task.

Bec Richardson from Aggreko Event Services said, “We hit up (Muster CEO) Greg (Cavanagh) and said it would be great to support a charity through the Muster. We all came together and built fences, it was pretty cool with lots of banter. With different teams on site each day, there was a bit of healthy rivalry about who did more.”

Why it matters

The Day of Difference program gives each Aggreko staff member two volunteer days a year to support a registered charity or community event. For Aggreko, the Muster was a natural choice.

“We got the idea at the Muster media launch, it just made sense to get involved with a charity we support,” Ms Richardson said. “We chose Muster because of how many charities they support, and how much they give back to the local community… it’s beautiful. The amount of money they’ve put back into Gympie and charities is just incredible.”

Muster CEO Greg Cavanagh said, “It’s absolutely wonderful having Aggreko not only supply the generators but also donate their time to help get the site ready. Their team spirit, humour and willingness to pitch in really captures the heart of what the Muster’s all about people coming together to do something positive for the community.”

Local impact

The Gympie Music Muster is supported by the Gympie Regional Council and the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland. This partnership, along with contributions from businesses like Aggreko, strengthens the festival’s role as a major community and charity supporter in the region.

Aggreko’s presence will continue during the event, with a tent onsite for staff and their families to enjoy the festival together.

What to look for next?

Ms Richardson hopes Aggreko’s involvement will become a tradition. “Hopefully this becomes a bit of an annual thing, we can come in each year and help the Muster with anything pre-event,” she said.
