The win came from Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4597, conducted on Saturday, 9 August 2025. The ticket is one of only four division one winning entries nationwide, with each pocketing an exact prize of $1,668,614.99. Three of those winners are from Queensland, while the fourth is from Victoria.

The $1.6 million Saturday Gold Lotto mystery in Capalaba is solved.
A local man, who bought his ticket at Mount Cotton Road News, has claimed the $1,668,614.99 prize from draw 4597 on 9 August 2025.
Moved to tears, he said, “This is wonderful! My wife is in a nursing home, and this will help us so much. We’ve been married for 67 incredible years. I’ve been playing for years and never expected to win.”
It’s the fourth major lottery win in Redland this year, totalling more than $4.9 million in prizes.
Store owner Meg Reilly said the team was thrilled the winner had checked his ticket, adding, “Congratulations to our winner. You’re now a millionaire!”
