What’s happening?
GreazeFest 2025 revs into action this Friday, August 1, celebrating 25 years of Australia’s most iconic rockabilly and Kustom Kulture festival. From August 1 to 3, the Redland Showgrounds in Cleveland will transform into a time capsule of vintage fashion, classic cars, art, music and retro rebellion.
Why it matters
As other festivals vanish, GreazeFest keeps growing. This milestone marks a rare achievement — a quarter century of cultural celebration and subcultural strength. Event Director Lori Lee Cash says it best with the program’s roaring return: “Three unforgettable days of vintage cool, classic cars, and rip-roaring live music.”
Local Impact
GreazeFest draws thousands of attendees to Redland City, boosting local tourism and showcasing Redlands as a cultural hotspot. With support from Redland City Council, Tourism and Events Queensland, and the Australian Government’s Revive Live initiative, the event is both a nostalgic celebration and an economic driver.
By the numbers:
-
22 live bands and DJs performing across multiple stages

Over 400 vehicles featured in the Hot Rod Show

Zoom In
This year’s event goes big with an international flair. Special guest Wildman from Mooneyes Japan will pinstripe fan memorabilia live. Guests can also meet tiki carvers Campbell Griffiths (Watango Tiki) and Tiki Stacey. Mimsy’s Trailer Trash Tattoo Caravan returns alongside Kane’o Custom Kreations and other retro creators.
The Pinup Party on Saturday, August 2, invites festival-goers to embrace retro fashion and join a massive tiki-themed group photo. There’s also an unplugged stage, market stalls, free dance classes, vintage hairstyling, and all things rockabilly — from music to motorbikes.
Zoom Out
Since its inception in 2000, GreazeFest has grown into the flagship Australian event for rockabilly culture. It honours the music style born in 1950s Memphis and revived globally by artists like The Stray Cats and Shakin’ Stevens in the 1980s. The event now attracts a global following and annual attendance from rockabilly fans across Australia and abroad.
