What’s happening?
Play It Forward has announced its next major community choir project, The Greatest Show Choir, set to razzle-dazzle the Redlands at the RPAC Concert Hall in May 2025.
Building on the success of Rock Choir in 2023 and Pop Choir in 2024, this initiative will bring together 200 unauditioned local singers for twelve weeks of rehearsals, culminating in a spectacular performance featuring hits from Broadway classics such as Les Misérables, Chicago, Cats, Frozen, and The Greatest Showman.
The choir will be directed by Dr Jonathon Welch AM, internationally acclaimed tenor and choirmaster, known for his work with Choir of Hard Knocks.
Why it matters?
This project offers an inclusive platform for locals to connect, develop new skills, and participate in a high-energy, professional production.
Dr Jonathon Welch highlights the transformative power of choir singing: “There are not many times in life that we get to share our voices together… I’ve seen many people who never show or share their emotions really open up when singing with others.”
Additionally, The Greatest Show Choir continues to bolster the Redlands’ reputation as a hub for cultural and artistic activities, forming part of the vibrant “Redlands Arts Coast” music scene.

Local Impact
Play It Forward has established itself as a cornerstone of the Redlands cultural calendar, with past projects inspiring participants and audiences alike.
In 2024, Jonathon Welch AM received the Australia Day Redlands Coast Cultural Award for his contributions, while Play It Forward was a finalist in the Best of Redlands category of the Redlands Business Excellence Awards.
