Redland City Council Announces Holiday Closures

Preparing for the Festive Season in Redland City

As the holiday season approaches, Redland City Council has released a comprehensive schedule of closures for various essential and non-essential services.

From December 22, 2023, to January 2, 2024, several facilities will experience adjusted operating hours, ensuring residents and visitors are well-informed about the changes.

Council Services and Contact Centres

All non-essential services, including Customer Service Centres and Council’s Contact Centre, will be closed during this period. However, emergency services will be available for Council-related emergencies.

Waste Management

Kerbside waste, recycling, and green waste collections will continue as usual, even on Christmas Day, with altered collection times.

The Recycling and Waste Centres will observe closures only on Christmas Day, ensuring ongoing waste management for the community.

Libraries and Cultural Centres

The Redland City libraries, Redland Performing Arts Centre, Redland Art Gallery, IndigiScapes, Redland Animal Shelter, and the Visitor Information Centre will have varying closures during the festive season.

Digital library resources will remain accessible despite these closures.

Specific Facility Closures

The closures will impact services differently across locations, including varied hours for libraries, galleries, and performance centres.

Redland Animal Shelter will observe limited opening hours from December 26 to January 1.

Plan Ahead

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for any necessary services during this period, especially for waste collection and facility usage.

Additionally, online requests for certain services submitted after December 20, 2023, will be addressed starting January 2, 2024.

Redland City Council’s proactive approach to outlining these closures aims to ensure a seamless holiday experience for the community while maintaining essential services.

Residents are advised to check the Council’s website for detailed information regarding specific closures and adjusted timing of services.

The holiday season in Redland City invites everyone to enjoy the festivities responsibly while being mindful of the adjusted operational hours of essential services.
